Amehhotep III

Amenhotep III ruled from either 1386-1349 BC or 1388-1350/51BC, he died sometime around his 39th year of rule.

Amenhotep III married Tiye in his 2nd reignal year. Shuttarna II, King of Mitanni, sent his daughter Giluhipa to marry Amenhotep III to secure ties between the two countries. Gilukhipa was also sister to Tushratta, who suceeded Shuttarna II as King of Mittani. Gilukhipa married Amenhotep II in his 10th reignal year. The construction of the pleasure lake for Queen Tiy began in Year 11. Amenhotep III married Sitamun in his 30th reignal year. Amenhotep III married Iset in his 34th reignal year at the second sed Festival. Amenhotep III married Tadukhepa (niece ot Gilukhipa) in his 36th(?) reignal year
