Grooming Day

Tyrion is getting ready to go in for a grooming. I thought I would take some before and after pics because the transformation always amazes me. I think he’s cute as a shaggy dog, but I’m not sure how well he can see like this. I like to take him on walks in the woods over in Leslie Park, but lately he’s been getting lots of burrs, leaves, and small twigs stuck in his long fur, so it’s time for a change. I’m anxious to see his pretty eyes again. So I drop him off at the groomer and head […]

WordPress htaccess Editing

The .htaccess file is an essential piece of your website security. With simple changes to your .htacess file you can password protect areas of your website, allow or deny the ability of users to browse the filesystem on your web server, configure redirects for your website, and allow or deny script execution in particular areas of your website. I’m running WordPress, so there are several plugins available and I previously tested out Subscribe to Category and Subscribe2, both free plugins, but both were difficult to customize. I was looking for a really simple thing, or so I though, just a form […]

Setting Fonts In BeTheme

I wanted to change the default font for my WordPress BeTheme site, so I googled how to do it. I was surprised to find lots of posts telling me that I had to write custom CSS to accomplish this. That just didn’t seem right, if you paid for an easily customizable theme, then you shouldn’t need to learn CSS just to change the sitewide fonts. So I poked around a bit and discovered there is indeed an easy way to do this without needing to learn CSS at all.   From the WordPress Dashboard select Appearance, under that select BeTheme […]
